Think of the clubhouse as an extension of your own home.
At Frederica you are greeted by magnificent architecture reminiscent of the grand coastal island resorts. The red tiled roof, tabby walls, graceful arches and touches of Spanish style are a nod to the explorers that were drawn to this island four centuries ago. The heart pine floors were reclaimed from an old cigar factory and magnificently restored. And the Pecky Cypress woodwork throughout the clubhouse is both a natural work of art and a showcase of true craftsmanship.
Every one of the 36,000 square feet of this clubhouse is devoted to the comfort and enjoyment of our members, their families and their guests. Whether it's relaxing by one of the many fireplaces, sharing stories over cocktails on the terrace or enjoying a fine cigar on the smoking porch, every detail has been considered. And when it's time to eat, the grillroom's soaring ceilings and roughhewn tabby walls create an ambience that is as impressive as it is relaxed and comfortable.
The Members Pub adjacent to the Tabby Room allows for a variety of dining experiences at the Club as well as a gathering place for members after a round of golf. Complementing the Southern Vernacular style of the Tabby Room, the Pub offers 1,000 square feet of additional dining and gathering space of rustic charm with aged antique plaster walls and rich wood paneling, solid timber trusses, a richly constructed wood paneled bar and a screened outdoor terrace. The Frederica Clubhouse pampers the ladies with exceptional locker facilities that rival, and perhaps exceed, the richly appointed men's facilities. No expense has been spared in assuring the comfort of our members. Both the men's and women's facilities offer steam rooms, heart pine lockers, individual baths with showers and well-furnished vanities with which to freshen up after a round. And the locker room staff will greet you with a smile, ready to address any needs that may arise.
The Pro Shop staff is equally prepared to help you on and off the course. Whether it's a tip to help you hone your game, an equipment suggestion or just some help picking out the right attire, their knowledge and attentiveness will exceed expectations.
From the charming ladies sitting room overlooking the 18th green to the commanding view from the living room's magnificent arched window to the verandas cooled by marsh breezes, each and every facet of the clubhouse celebrates the stunning setting and the game of golf itself.
About our Pecky Cypress woodwork
The term 'Pecky Cypress” refers to cypress lumber, whether tidewater or sinker, that has holes throughout it. Pecky only occurs in occasional logs and cannot be discovered until the log is cut, hence it is considered a rare find. It only forms from the inside out in a circular pattern following the tree's rings, and when milled, the pattern of pecky holes is random, creating a beautiful piece of nature's artwork.
