FREDERICA: The Course

Renowned architect Tom Fazio collaborated with Sir Michael Bonallack, five-time British Amateur champion and former secretary of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, to create a unique, championship-caliber, members-only masterpiece at Frederica. Blending harmoniously with nature, its rolling fairways framed by mature oaks rise from just a few feet above sea level to the highest elevations in Glynn County, offering stunning lowcountry vistas.

Design elements seldom employed by Fazio and no doubt influenced by Sir Michael created an open, links-style layout. Although measuring nearly 7,300 yards from the championship markers, strategic options are the hallmark of Frederica. Numerous approach options to the oversized undulating greens encourage a bump-and-run shot. All styles of play are accommodated; however, a premium is placed on positioning the ball properly off the tee and on the greens, as well as chipping and putting. Players of all skill levels will appreciate the choice of five tee boxes and generous landing areas. The practice facility, with a state-of-the-art short game area, provides members with the opportunity to create all shots required on the course.
