Tabby, the unique blend of lime, sand, water and oyster shells and used in the construction of Frederica’s Clubhouse and Boathouse, was first brought to America’s southeastern coast by sixteenth century Spanish explorers. Much of Fort Frederica itself, built during the 1730s, was made using this ruggedly handsome concrete.
