The Frederica Boathouse & Frederica Lake
The lake record is 12 lbs., 8 oz. You gently release your catch back into the water – he’s got some growing to do!
Frederica’s 450 acres of interconnected lakes create the largest freshwater lake in Coastal Georgia. The lake is great for fishing, but is just as appealing as a place to get away for quiet time on the water, a cocktail cruise or a family picnic.
Frederica’s fleet is a collection of beautiful wooden boats that includes a 30-foot Elko for cruises of up to 12 passengers, three picnic boats, two flat top fishing boats, handcrafted wooden canoes, and a 24' pontoon boat. The tackle room will equip everyone from the serious angler to the youngest member’s first cast. Our dock master and guides will assure you a great day on the water.
Serious sport fishermen and novices alike will be equally pleased by the stock of Frederica’s lakes. Besides largemouth bass (eight- to ten-pounders are common), the lake also has exciting schools of bluegill, hybrid Stripers and an occasional catfish takes the bait.
The lake is a natural feeding ground for indigenous waterfowl and birds. There’s perhaps no better vantage point from which to watch the birds’ antics than the second floor of the Boathouse – a large multi-purpose room with a panoramic view of the lake. It’s a stunning site for banquets and receptions, with the feel of old-time lodge, complete with large fireplaces, screened porch and open balconies over the water.
Members who would prefer to take a leisurely pedal around Frederica will find comfortable Townie bikes at the Boathouse – each ready to roll through the community’s quiet, meandering roadways.
